Last December the transmission broke in my car. I tried & tried to get the money ($3000) together for the repairs but was unable to do so. In March of this year my precious daughter came up from Texas and paid for replacement of transmission. Not only did she do that but also bought many furniture items that I needed in my apartment. I am a senior citizen and try to live on a very limited income so I am very blessed and thankful for my daughter and son-in-law.

    2. Nancy Trottier

I am so thankful to have one more garden and one more year with my Father and my first Grandson, with 90 years between them.

Well, the Mayan round callender ends on 12/21/2012 and only because we have not found the others. You know you can only engrave so much on one rock!.

I am happy to have a job I love, caring for others, and a wonderful family. Like so many others. What I am thankful for is the given ability and gift to bring a smile to almost anyone from any walk of life. To see the light rekindle in their eys when they grin is so rewarding.. Yes, that’s what I am thankful for.

  2. Jean thurman

Happy that we are a healthy family and God is in our everyday life. We feel very blessed by the purchase of our new house. It was a journey to get it but we are very thankful!!

God has provided so much this year. In Oct we found out that my mom has liver cancer. I’m thankful to have been able to go the 700 miles to see her in Oct & at Thanksgiving. I plan on going home for Christmas too as this will be our last together. Thankful you have phone service now back home in rural MN.

  5. Shirley

So thankful for the newest addition to our family in April 2012 and for God’s provision throughout the year. He is so gracious to us! So thankful that we get to celebrate the birth of our precious Savior, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas to all!

  7. Marie Piotrowski

I’m most thankful for the gift of thankfulness. I’m learning that having a grateful heart everyday about every day things makes me have a more positive outlook on life. I am always most thankful for my Lord Jesus Christ whom gives me eyes to see the blessings of life. Family, friends, church, warm home, food enough to eat, unexpected phone calls, fresh snow, beautiful sunsets, children laughing, genuine smiles, bell ringers singing carols, etc. But I am also thankful for God being there in the hardships as well.

  8. Kathleen Lang

I went to CA for a family reunion and a couple of days after I arrived from NC, I started coughing. I thought that it was “the usual bronchitis” that I get every October. But…….it got worse instead of clearing up after 7-10 days. I was staying with my neice, who is not in the best of health. She insisted that I go to urgent care and she took me. They gave me meds and sent me home. A week went by and I was worse. My coughing was non-stop and I sounded like a “Canadian Goose”. She took me to the ER at the hospital where I was admitted with a 103o temp. I had pneumonia. I am so thankful for her intuition to insist that I seek medical care, as I was in the hospital for a week and came very close to death. Her name is Sheri Ann and she is my angel and I thank God for her and I am so thankful

Family! My husband and I both have wonderful families and we have 3 fantastic daughters. We both lost our mothers within about 6 months of each other. This really made us think more deeply about how blessed we both were to have them and how blessed we are to still have our fathers and what they mean to us. We are striving to be the kind of parents that we had. Lastly we are thankful for each other. We have been married for 25 years and more in love today than the day we married. We appreciate every moment together.

  10. Kim Tupps

I am thankful that my son in the Marine Corp. is stationed in a place overseas that he can have his family. I will not see him in person for three years but, his wife and daughter are able to be with him most of the time. I am thankful for the service of my son and all of his brothers in arms for their sacrifice on our behalf.

  11. Heidi

  12. Crystal Barnes

I am thankful to have an amazing husband, he was given just under 4 weeks notice for a one year long deployment. His willingness to make such great sacrifices for our country is amazing to me. He did everything in his power to make sure the kids and I would be OK while he was away. Instead of being angry that he was being sent on a deployment with short notice right before Christmas. He reminded me that his leaving means some other Marine that has been away for a year gets to come home to be with his/her family for the holidays. It will be a long hard year but I could not be more proud or feel more thankful for the man I married.

  13. Sara Wire

I am most thankful for the fact that I finally realize that want and need are really two different things. We may WANT lots of things, but in reality few of those are actually a NEED basis. This has translated to me being thankful and humble by what I do have….

  17. Melinda Carter Cooper

Thank you for having this contest where we can say what we are thankful for!

  26. Donna

2012 has been a very tough year for myself and my family. So I have to say I am thankful to be alive and have my children alive and although everyday is a constant struggle, we have each other and we all look after each other everyday. Myself and my 2 girls ages 10 and 15 have a very different outlook on our lives and know the importance of telling and showing others how you feel, because you never know when tragedy may strike and take someone from you.

  27. Freesia Lee

During the holidays when we gather together with our friends and family, we are reminded of all the litte things we take for granted to be thankful for. I am thankful that I have a loving family that is there for me through the good and bad times. I can depend on them no matter what the situation is. I am thankful for the community I live in with neighbors who really look out for one another and don’t expect anything in return. These are generous people, not only monetarily, but also with their personal time. I thank God for all these people in my life that make my life more fulfilled.

  28. bsrthe a bejar

  30. Mark A Gundic

To still be able to live in my house ,have a job ,and that my family is healthy and safe. It has been a rough year for me, and others as well ,some more than others. So I am thankful everyday for the basics.

  31. elizabeth

For surviving cancer for the fourth time. If you have your health you have everything and nothing else is important,

  32. Sheilah Hendricks

  33. Mary Knuckles

I am thankful that we have a loving heavenly father that is forgiving of our sins so that we can one day go home to be with him for eternity. I am thankful for my earthly family including my precious grandbabies that make life worth living. I am thankful for my church family that I have been a part of for the last 27 years that never forget you when you get hurt and are unable to come to church. They are always there with phone calls, food when I am too sick to cook, and friendly cards to try to help lift my soul.

  36. barb winn

The showing of love towards my husband and me this summer by my sister and brother-in-law. When we were without a home they offered theirs to us. If we did not have their love and support in all the areas that you need to survive, we don’t know what we would have done. Crazy thing was that we lived in another state than they and we had lost touch for many years. So, when they heard about our situation they were there for us. Our family has never been close, so for my sister and brother in-law to help I was more than touched. Just the gesture of caring for us meant more than my words could ever convey. They will forever be in our grateful hearts and hopefully one day we will be able to return this love, if not to them, someone in need, like we were. I know God is always watching out for us all. May the people less fortunate, be blessed with shelter, food and the knowledge God, will always bless us in his way, when we most need it. Blessings and Merry Christmas to All!

  37. Rose Denton

I am so thankful for so many things this year. It has been a hard one for me physically and emotionally. I worked really hard to lose weight last year, then I had a bunch of medical issues this year and gained it back plus more. My husband is finally going to school full time for a career he has always wanted, and working part time. He recently lost his part time job. Even with all the struggles I am at peace and know God is taking care of us. We count our blessings everyday and especially pray for those who have less. We are happy and blessed.

  38. Bonnie G

I am so grateful to be alive and celebrate the holidays. I have beaten cancer twice and count each day as a blessing.

  39. Sandy

I am most thankful for the many ways the Lord blesses me each and every day ……. with good health, wonderful family, a new baby in our family, great neighbors and a job. I am truly blessed!!!

I’m thankful for getting married this year! And also coming to USA with my wife for the very first time! And last but not the least, I’m really thankful for PureTalk USA, because before that I was spending huge on mobile bills/plans, but now its really a good plan for me & my wife.

  41. Drew

I am thankful for an uncontested election. I feared a repeat of 2000. We’re so lucky to live in a country not torn apart by civil war or truly oppressed by a horrible regime. Despite all of the hyperbolic rhetoric we are, for the most part, a stable and prosperous nation with plenty of room to improve.

  42. Stacy

I am grateful for a peace of mind. I have lost so much in the past few years, in the past few years, I lost my sister, father and divorce my ex-husband. Then this year my current husband lost his job. So this year I am grateful that God allowed me to have a peace of mind int the mist of a storm. I feel joy and really looking forward to a New Year!

  43. Billie Kennedy

I am most thankful for my Father that is 98 years old and just lost our Mother. He is living alone now that she is gone. He is doing real good. May God be near him. This is what I’m thankful for. That God has given him the strength and courage to go on alone.

  44. Andrea W.

I am thankful for the family that I have. This year we were blessed to add a beautiful baby boy, our first grandchild. My husband, who has RA and other health issues, was able to enjoy being a first time grandpa. I am thankful that my oldest daughter is healthy, happy, and working in the field she loves in CA. I only wish she could be with us this Christmas to celebrate the blessings we have.

  45. Maritza M

I am thankful for having Jesus Christ as my savior. Because of him I have been able to face many challenges and difficulties in live. He hold my hand and I grateful because In all of the situations I have ended up being victorious.

  46. Dmitry

I am thankful for being alive and able to enjoy everything this life has to offer: a loving wife, rambunctious children, sunny days, rainy weather, challenging people at work and good friends in my synagogue!
I am grateful to the Holy Living One for creating me and sustaining me all these years! I am thankful that life continues, taking us into an even more exciting future, filled with purpose, meaning, laughter and learning!
I am excited about serving God and His children everywhere in this world! Hope you feel blessed and grateful too!

  47. Michele

I am thankful for my family, our health (that it’s not any worse than some people’s health is). Also, my son, who brings happiness and a bright attitude to everything. I’m thankful for education, a good job, a house, and food on our table, along with all the clutter.

  48. Dora Morgan

Where to start…our families health! My mom broke her hip and is doing well, my dad has had heart problems and is doing well, my one year old son had a bad infection that messed up his blood, and is doing well, my husband had to have surgery and is doing well, and our two wonderful girls are healthy! Our house caught on fire, but we got it out before any damage was done. My brother found the Lord. My husband hit an elk in a geo tracker, and survived. I could sit here all day!! But I am most thankful for my Lord and Savior…He carries me through what ever comes my way! It has been an amazing year!

  49. LIZ FAWBUSH

MY MOTHER–She is 92 years old and in the local hospital right now for congestive heart failure and pneumonia. This will be her last Christmas, and all of our family will celebrate with her in her hospital room. She has always been the “glue” that has held our family together. She had six children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and even a few great-greats. During her lifetime, she has suffered loss of her husband, two of her children and several grandchildren. But every day, she shows us what unconditional LOVE is all about, and she is what I am most thankful for. I cannot image our lives without her here. I love you Mom.

  50. Jim Rigg

As an older person, I find joy and happiness in so many simple things os life. I am thankful for knowing the Truth about God, for each day that I wake up, but most of all I am so thankful in having such a loving, caring, beautiful, and unselfish wife. It is not the “material” things that I am so thankful for, but the “relationships” I have with my Creator and my dear Wife. What more does one need?

  51. Mark Weaver

I am most thankful for the birth of my daughter Jenna on 12-12-12. My wife and her were able to come home today. What a wonderful Christmas present.

    1. Bonnie G

Congratulations on your beautiful new baby!! Baby’s are such a pleasure and yours is an added plus of birthdate of 12/12/12

  52. NC

In 2012, I’m thankful that I’m able to help my parents to pay back portion of their debts to family relatives. Although there’s still long road to go in paying off their debts and relatives are talking behind our back for my family hardship, I’ll not give up and believe one day will pay off. I’m as well very thankful able to find PureTalkusa that I am able to give my parents a cell phone to use since I’m not able to afford paying large amount monthly service fees from other providers.

  53. Lois Dunkin

Thankful for all i have, a few good friends,my dog, my horses and to have food to eat and a nice place to live. The new cell phone i got this year was a plus too. i actually use it and it is unbelievable easy on the budget for a retiree.

  54. TJ

I’m most grateful in 2012 for: my family, the internet, and the passage of the Affordable Care Act. I am trying hard to support myself while dealing with chronic illness.

  55. Nancy

I have an aged brother-in law in an assisted living facility,as expected he does a lot of talking on the phone. He doesn’t read or write and sometimes it is very frustrating to try to expalin about running out of minutes. I am so thankful that PureTalk has an afforadable unlimited plan, with out it I would be still pulling out my hair. Thank GOD for my Brother-in-law and for Pure Talk!

  56. PTsteve

I’m most thankful for friends and colleagues who believe in me. Long story, but I lost my job in 2012. However, I’ve been lifted up and so enriched by friends and colleagues who know my character and capabilities. Thanks to them I’ve been connected to, and advocated for, a number of job opportunities. Friends and their unfailing belief in me are what I’m most thankful for in 2012!

  57. Dale

My wife was Diagnosed with systemic amyloidosis in March 2011, My 7 children, aged 10 – 22 didn’t know how long she had to live. We have been on a rollercoaster experience of Chemotherapys, Battling often between hope and despair. I am grateful that the Lord Jesus has seen fit to allow her to be with us again this year.

  58. Prudence

It’s funny how we sometimes take for granted the routines we accomplish each day. This year, I learnt the meaning of true love; true family bonding; that of living life to it’s fullest; and living everyday through Chist as though it was my last. After experiencing the Sandy odeal, my family took a vow to always be each others keeper. My niece, just 2 years old, was a open heart patient at the NYC Hospital at the time the storm hit. We prayed God for her deliverence and he rewarded us gracefully. Today, although still going back and forth to doctors visits, she flashes a smile that will melt your heart. Our intention was to spend Christmas in the Caribbean this year, so that our Queen can see her precious granddaughter. Unfortunately this is not possible, as a result of her operation. Come April 2013 however, if God spares our lives to see Easter, we plan on making that trip. So, I thank God for all his many blessing in 2012, and although we can’t close it off with the Christmas celebration in the Caribbean with our Queen, we’ll celebrate Christmas in April with my 2 year old niece present there. God bless us all.

SEASON’S GREETINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!

  59. Julian "Jud" Davis

I am so thankful for many things throughout the year 2012 but one of the best has been my PureTalkUSA Flex plan account & Phone which at its’ very low price has allowed me to “keep in touch” with family and loved ones during a very hard year for me.

  60. Mike

I’m thankful that no one invented a rectal barometer this year. There’s simply NO conceivable need for one of those! (I’m also thankful to Steve Martin for originating this idea.)

  64. G. BUD Budlong

So many selfish folks, I’m thankful that the UN recognized Palestine as an observer state. Thankful that the American citizens rebuked the entire Republican party platform and seems to be waking up to their evil intentions. Thankful that the truth about the Bradley Manning hero being persecuted by our government for telling how evil they have been supporting all those dictators around the world has begun to be told by media networks despite the efforts of the Government to silence that reporting.
OH and after living in an RV for 4 years after the aviation industry failed and I lost my career I am still alive and able to feed myself on the $180 a month I get from food stamps.

  65. Linda R

Just had a difficult year, issue after issue … but this past week it been a bit better, I hope it continues to ease up, and life gets back to “normal”, and thankful for everything that I have in life to good and bad.
Oh and being able to afford a $10 a month phone for emergencies for a family member to have is super amazing, seriously.

  66. Juanita Raleigh

I am most thankful for laughter and joy in my life no matter the circumstances. My wonderful husband and children! I’ve had major health problems the past few years, and we have several young children that have been such a blessing to me, loving and helping their other siblings. My husband has helped in so many ways I can’t list them all here. I’m very thankful for a peaceful home with loving relationships, and hope my children find the same when they are older.

  70. DW

FAMILY! I am most thankful for my family: being married to my best friend for nearly 40 years, seeing our children grow up, and enjoying our grandchildren. No matter who is in the presidential office, no matter what the up-and-down economy is doing, no matter what difficulties we face, FAMILY is always my biggest blessing and joy next to my Savior, Jesus Christ, who works ALL things for good for those who love Him.

  71. nayana

I am thankful to my brother, who made it possible for me to meet my parents and sister after long 2 years… and my husband, for supporting me through this rough time… Love your both…. and “thank you” is never enough for both of you… feel so blessed with this much love…..

I am thankful that, with all the evil, uncertainty and chaos in the world, it is comforting to have faith that God is in control. We trust Him to guide us through these uncertain times.

  74. Francis Hawkins

I am most thankful for that I can find in my heart to be able to give to others everyday of my life and be grateful everyday for all that I am blessed with. In the past, I lived a life where I was just focusing on me until I had a life experience that changed me completely.
I was living a quite reckless life and living on the edge and now I can say that I am focusing on others rather than me. I thank God everday for all that I am and all that I will be.

  75. Gary Anthony

In March I yhad my second date with a women. Our first date was in November of 1953. In June I was visiting her in Mpls and had a sudden onset of Sepsis. the doctors told all of my family to start making funeral arrangements. It has been a very memorable year for me.

  76. Judy

I am thankful to have celebrated 25 years of marriage this year with the very best husband. I have often said that no one other than my parents had treated me as good as he does. We’ve gone through some hard times with sickness, loss of his parents, etc but we have faced everything together.

I am thankful for puretalkusa!! Seriously my family of course. Pure talk made it possible to give my 95 year old Dad a phone,
to stay connected with everyone. As my son puts it, he is in the twilight of his life and having a cell to stay connected means the world to him!!!

  80. Christine Harris

I am most incredibly thankful that my husband is still alive. He is living with liver cancer and every day can be touch and go. To me, even if I had nothing on earth but him, it would be enough for me.

  81. me

I am thankful that finally I am reunited with my family after a year due to work related issues. I am thankful that I got pregnant this year and expecting our baby boy by January 2nd. For God all things are possible. His mercy endures forever.

  82. Darcy Vargas

I am most thankful for the release of my son…he made some very poor choices when he was young and paid dearly for them! This will be the first time in 7 years that we will be able to celebrate Christmas together again as a family!

  83. casey piotrowski

I am so thankful for my health. I can’t afford health care right now and any kind of serious illness or accident would devastate me. I have been given so very much…to the point of being miraculous, but this is my greatest gift and I give thanks for it.

  84. onelivewoman

I am thankful for wonderful medical people who worked to get the chemo I needed even tho it was in short supply. When the FDA allowed a similar drug to be used they were right on top of it. When they were told I couldn’t have it the staff fought for me and now, between God and this marvelous group of people, my cancer is stable and I can have another Christmas with my family.

  85. Manfred

I am thankful to God for my wife of 34 years, the early retirement from HP, the opportunity to serve in my church and travel with my pastor. I am thankful that Christ is the refuge to all His saints and we have no fear of what lies ahead. I am thankful for the written Word of God, so we do not have to be led by men and their opinions.

  86. harpreet

My job – For giving me a source of living and for being a medium where I can add value to the world

  87. BW

I am most thankful for having time with my older brother before he passed away suddenly. This holiday season is rough without him.

  88. Bobby Jo

I have so much to be thankful for I don’t know where to start. I am most thankful for my salvation without that I would be very depressed. My family that I love with all my heart and my home that Lord has blessed me with.

  90. Linda Brown

I am thankful for a happy, healthy family, and, of course, a phone service (PureTalk) that never lets me down and is the best deal out there!

  91. Prudence

    Give God the glory…

My heart goes out to all the parents of the kids at the Newtown, Connecticut Elementary school today. These children a babies dear God. Console the parents of those whom overcame their fright by uniting with their children at the facility, and cradle those whom were met with demastating news.

THANK YOU DEAR FATHER FOR LOOKING OVER MY BABIES…WE HAVE HAD A WONDERFUL AND BLESSINGS FILLED 2012 YEAR. AS WE LOOK FORWARD TO CROSS OVER INTO 2013 TOGETHER, TAKE US BY THE HAND AND LEAD US…AMEN.

    LORD HAVE MERCY!

  92. Adrien Beatty

I was blessed to be given another child at 11 days old. He is now 10 months old and getting ready to celebrate his first christmas. I was given my children to keep myself healthy as well to give them the unconditional love they deserve and werent provided. They have blessed me in multiple ways.

  93. Susan Klavans

Hubby got a rare, hard to diagnose auto immune disease. Airlifted to a big city hospital. Treatment and ongoing medication have the disease in near remission and he has no restrictions.

  94. Lumena atherton

My partner! He always makes me smile when winter sky’s color turns to that flat grey that drains me away. He always brings me back to the realm of the living. Love is what I appreciate most this year.

  95. L. Flick

I am most thankful that my three children are well behaved (well, most of the time!), sweet, happy, smart, and healthy.

  96. Lori

This past year our family has been blessed to have survived 3 emergency hospital visits and two months of unemployment. Through it all God has provided what we’ve needed. No, it’s not been easy, but possible. We are still working through the bills but now my husband has been offered a better job. So while I’ve been following a calling that doesn’t make sense financially for us, our family has been blessed more than we ever have deserved.

  97. Lynne

I am most thankful that Hurricane Sandy spared Southeast Pennsylvania and our damages were minor. Prayers out to those in NY and NJ who bore the brunt of the storm and will be recovering for a very long time. Financially things are tough and I am behind on the mortgage, car payments and bills, but at least as a family we are together, healthy, and have a roof over our heads (at least for now), it could have been so much worse.

  98. Don Watson

God blessing me with a Christian ministry, answering questions from around the world about the Christian faith, for Christians and non-Christians alike. May Jesus’ Name be ever praised!

  99. Sarah

Although I lost my beloved friend & companion of 26yrs, a horse named Goat, I am most thankful we were able to rescue in his memory 4 baby goats destined for slaughter. They now live here on our farm and have become a big part of our 4 legged family. I am thankful for all the wonderful years we had together, and all the love and inspiration he gave me. It is now my turn to share that love with our new babies. May we have many happy years together too. I miss & love you Goat!

  100. Barb Rogan

I am thankful for that I have a wonderful husband to share my life with, four adult children to love and three grandkids who are a big part of my life. I have a great family and know some truly wonderful people and a deep faith. What more does one need?

  102. Barb Bussie

I am thankful for my family, especially my 4 yr. old grandson. He brings so much joy to our life.

  103. June White

I’m thankful I don’t live my life with regrets, that I live life with compassion and integrity. I have experienced things in the past that have made life difficult but I know there is a world of people who have a much more difficult life. I have learned this year that possessions I obtained over the years are not important, that money, cars, houses and power always need to take a back seat to character, morals, kindness, family and friends. I am thankful for the simple, beautiful things in my life and the caring and kindness of others.

  104. Nich Dee

That I am still alive after multiple brain injuries and I continue to grow and learn every day. Very thankful for my family that has been supportive all the way.

  105. John Carpenter

I am thankful for my 3rd year of sobriety and my four Grandchildren, three of which I never would even have gotten to meet if not for the sobiety. It IS a wonderful life!

  108. leezoo42

I a thankful that after four years of trying, my husband finally qualified for Social Security Disability. It meant that after I was laid off from my job and was unable to find anything else (I’m 60), we ca keep the house we’ve lived in for the past 20 years and did not have to find new homes for our geriatric dogs, one of whom has gone deaf, and another with seizures. Because every little bit helps, I was grateful when I read a praise of PureTalkUSA because it meant that I could keep my now out-dated cellphone and not have to buy a new one, all while saving money that can be used for my husband or dog’s medical expenses.

  109. Susan B

I am thankful for the life of Dale Regan. She was the head of my school who was shot senselessly on March 6, 2012. By giving up her life she saved the lives of our students and faculty and I am thankful yet sad. She was the best administrator that I have ever worked for.

  110. jacqueline nulty

I am thankful for so many things, mostly that my God is faithful and He provides my every need. He holds me up when I cannot stand, He leads me when I don’t know where to go, He keeps me and my family safe from harm and when trials come He gives me strength and helps me through.

  112. Frank C

We had not seen my mother’s family – her sisters or their children – for thirty years. Out of the blue one of the sisters sent a letter. Now we’re back in contact. I’m thankful for re-establishing a relationship with my aunts and wonderful cousins.

  113. Bob Stier

For our “kids” & their spouses and our 3 grandsons–especially the health of our youngest who was diagnosed “failure to thrive” but has begun to gain weight and overcome the diagnosis; for our recent 40th wedding anniversary cruise (our first!) in the Caribbean; for faithful family & friends; and for the Lord’s provisions for us financially, emotionally and medically over the years!

  114. Connie Wong

I am grateful for the life I have; I relish being able to make my own decisions that will determine my future, my fate, my destiny. I am grateful that I am alive and that I have the opportunity to make as much of my life as I can, to make a difference in the world – whether it be helping a child or a friend or a stranger, making someone smile or even making their lives a little bit easier. I am grateful that I have learned from my experiences and hopefully, have become wiser and more empathetic. And I hope one day to look back on my life and smile, knowing that I have lived a life with meaning.

  115. Marrell Stevenson

I am most thankful for Jesus who gave His life that I might live to enjoy family and friends everyday through Him.

  116. Tamara Mitchell

I am grateful for every single day I have on this beautiful planet. This year was filled with incredible challenges and tragedies for me, but I have ended up on the beautiful Oregon coast and I’m able to get up every morning and see the vast ocean stretch out forever. Some mornings are drizzly, some have spectacular sunrises, some are foggy and mysterious. But every single day is a gift and every moment is to be treasured. There are no phone lines here, so Pure Talk connects me to the world. Thank you!

  117. Lori Feerick

I just celebrated my 12.12.12 birthday and I had wished for 12 unexpected pleasant surprises for the day. I was overwhelmed with well wishes and people following my periodic facebook postings celebrating the day, but one friend surprised me with a visit and presented me with a letter. It was prompted from the prior Sunday sermon at church where we were challenged to handwrite a letter of thanks and appreciation to someone who had impacted your life. It was a very heartwarming letter and really made me feel special and thankful for the opportunities I have had to give of myself for others and to know how much it is appreciated. So very thankful for close friendships and opportunities to serve others.

I feel so grateful that my parents are alive and well. After being diagnosed with colon cancer last November my father underwent several surgeries and months of chemotherapy. I used to exclaim “Papa” when he showed up the earliest to pick me up at preschool, and when other kids also started uttering “Papa” I would proudly refute by saying “that’s my dad”. I remember him cooking eggs for me every morning for years (but he never had time for breakfast himself) and walking me to the bus stop. I remember him lifting heavy luggage cases for me on my first day of college but by then his hair had turned gray…Thank you Mom and Dad. Please cherish your health as dearly as you love me.

  119. Sharon

To have each moment I get to spend with my ailing Mother. One more Christmas together is a blessing/ gift from God!

I am thankful for my life and my health..for each breath I take in a quality of life I am privileged to experience now. I am thankful for the memories of friends and family past and present. I am thankful for the love we have shared. I am thankful for all of life lessons learned that have made me the person I am and the potential I have for the future.

  123. clara marcum

I am most thankful to still have my mom this year for Christmas, I lost my Dad about 3 months ago. Its been so hard not having him here to counsel me in some tough situations that I’m going through. You never know how much you appreciate them until their gone. I’m also thankful to still have my brother, sisters, husband and child still with me. That is worth more than any present, is still having my family with me.

  124. Carolyn Bearden

So thankful that when I fell i Oct. 1st. and broke my left arm very badly that the good Lord put it back in line and I didn’t have to have surgery, That it is healing and I should be able to go back to work some time in the new year. God is good.

  125. Mike

Due to two family tragedies, we were forced to leave U.S.A to try to put the pieces back together. But, we had no idea it would take nearly 7 years to wrap up the nightmare. We just returned to U.S.A, after almost seven years. We thought that was it, and that we could never return home. We are so so so grateful to have had the chance, and we landed in U.S.A three days before Thanksgiving!!!!!

  126. Misti Hollingsworth

The time that I had with my grandparents right before they passed away. My grandfather was very ill and he wanted to see me get married before he passed on so we rushed and completed a ceremony and had a wonderful day with him and my grandmother. Then 1 week later to our great surprise my grandmother passed from a stroke and 7 days after that my grandfather passed. Had we not rushed to have the wedding in the town 150 miles away from us so that they could attend, I might not have had such a wonderful memory of their joy the warms my heart every day.

  127. richard hunt

I am thankful for the many who choose to serve in the armed forces, policemen, firemen, and first responders. I am thankful we have heroes like Dawn Hochsprung, Principal at Sandy Hook Elementary. People willing to give their lives for others. Also I am thankful for those who dedicate themselves to reach out to those in need like Hope House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi reaching the lost and homeless.
